Mazama is easily found Just off of the North Cascades Highway
(S.R 20) approximately 14 mi. north of Winthrop. Signs on
Hwy 20 indicate the turn coming from either direction. Four
buildings constitute downtown Mazama with the Mazama Country
Store being our center of the universe. Our office is easily
found by driving straight ahead where Lost river road forms
a "T" intersection about 1/2 mile from the highway.
Directions From the West
In summer, take I-5 to the intersection with
Hwy. 20, at Burlington. Turn east, and follow Hwy. 20 until
the road drops down a long hill just after Washington Pass.
Where the road flattens, you are entering the Methow Valley.
The turn for Mazama is well marked and on your left. Drive
1/4 mile into “downtown Mazama”.
In winter, the most direct route is to drive
East on Highway 2 through Stevens Pass to Wenatchee, where
State Route 97 will take you north to the intersection of
Route 153 near Pateros. After approximately 30 miles the road
will join Hwy 20, just south of Twisp. Continue to Winthrop
on Hwy 20 and then onto Mazama 14 miles north. All signs are
well marked as mentioned above.
Directions From the East
Drive west on Highway 2 until intersecting with 97A at Brewster.
Drive south to Pateros and the intersection with State Route
153. After approximately 30 miles the road will join Hwy.
20, just south of Twisp. Continue to Winthrop on Hwy. 20 and
then onto Mazama 14 miles north. All signs are well marked
as mentioned above.
The Mazama Community Center is located just east (right)
of the Lost river road and Goat creek road junction, 20 yards
